Lay Witness Movement

“ You shall be my  witnesses. "

Acts 1:8

MOVILLA ABBEY 16-18 NOVEMBER 2007

Hilary Patterson, team member, writes:

To be asked to be a member of a lay witness team is such a privilege and this one was no exception.  When we first met as a team in Shirley’s home, we all seemed to bond together immediately and the feeling of God being present was very obvious.

Then comes the day when you arrive at the church for the weekend, apprehensive, nervous, why?  Do we not have the assurance of what our God has promised  “ I will be with you always” and indeed HE surely was.

From the moment we met on the Friday night and right through to the Sunday, we all saw God working throughout the church.  I personally enjoyed the coffee morning, and felt really blessed being part of that group.  Our team meetings were a great time of encouragement for one another along with the much-needed laughter and the very evident presence of the Holy Spirit. I hope we have been able, through our own personal stories of how the Lord is working in our lives to speak and come alongside those in Movilla Abbey who needed our support.  I know I was truly blessed during the weekend and taken somewhat out of my own comfort zone.

The people from Movilla Abbey were so friendly and eager to make our stay with them very comfortable. The meals and hospitality were second to none.

We hope and pray their minister John Alderdice, the church council and the whole congregation continue to be blessed in their walk with the Lord.

God Bless
